On Thursday, there was a mix-up regarding the alleged apprehension of Nigerian disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch. It was initially reported that she had been apprehended for alleged assault. However, DJ Switch denied these reports and vehemently refuted any involvement in such incidents. She warned of legal action against those spreading false information.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundey, issued an apology, admitting that there was a mix-up leading to the misinformation. The police spokesperson clarified that the arrested individual was DJ Wysei, not DJ Switch. Hundey apologized to DJ Switch and media outlets, including Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC, to whom he had earlier given confirmation.

DJ Switch was upset with the false news and requested that the blogs, which spread it, take it down and correct their mistake. She stated that she was not seeking cheap publicity and did not support violence against the police. Her legal representative took screenshots of every blog spreading the fake news for legal purposes.
