South Australia is considering a groundbreaking ban on social media for teens under the age of 14. The state's premier, Peter Malinauskas, announced the plan and has appointed a legal expert, Robert French, former Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, to explore how to enforce this first-of-its-kind law in Australia.

The proposal would prohibit social media use for any South Australian under the age of 14 and require parental permission for 14 and 15-year-olds.
