Recall that Ayedatiwa, who previously served as the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, assumed the role of governor with a sense of gravity, expressing his deep commitment to the leadership responsibilities.

Ayedatiwa officially became the seventh governor of the state in a ceremony held at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s office. The Chief Judge of the state, Justice Olusegun Odusile, administered the oath of office in the presence of a large audience.

During his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated governor pledged to prioritize the welfare of the state's residents under his administration.

Post-inauguration, Aiyedatiwa convened a meeting with key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the 18 local government areas. In this gathering, he appealed to them to foster peace and unity in preparation for the upcoming governorship election in the state.

This marked the governor's inaugural engagement with the APC stakeholders, where he expressed gratitude to party leaders for their unwavering support.

Aiyedatiwa emphasized the imperative for all factions within the party to unite, setting aside any past disagreements for the collective progress of the APC and the overall development of the state.

In his own words, the governor stated, "It is important for me to tell you that as leaders of our party, we must put behind us the events of the last few months and come together as one big family for the progress of the APC and the development of our dear state."
