In a welcome development, the Nigerian Army claims that its troops deployed for counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State have foiled a terrorist attack on a community in the state, killing two terrorists.

According to the Department of Army Public Relations, troops acting on intelligence intercepted four armed terrorists on motorbikes at a known terrorist crossing point in Kurmin Aja, Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, only moments before their planned strike.

The statement added that the troops, in a well-executed assault, engaged the terrorists in an intense gun battle and neutralized two of them, while others fled with gunshot wounds into a nearby forest.

After the operation, an extensive search of the area uncovered two AK-47 rifles, 30 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, three magazines, and two motorcycles belonging to the terrorists.

The Army urged local citizens to be vigilant, go about their regular business, and immediately report any suspicious activity to security officials.
