Popular Afrobeats music star David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, disclosed his excitement as he turned 32 years old on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Showing gratitude for the new age in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, he wrote, “Big 32 soon! Omo, God is good. Happy to be alive! My eyes don see shege, but steady, my fans dey shout shekpe!”
It was gathered that as part of his tradition of giving back to society, Davido revealed a ₦300m contribution to assist orphanages and a charity focused on eradicating drug abuse among young people across Nigeria.
In a press release by his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation, the singer reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable persons all over the country.
The press release signed and posted by Davido on Thursday morning read, “In line with its steadfast dedication to assisting underserved communities across Nigeria, the David Adeleke Foundation proudly publicizes another impactful year of charitable giving.
“Since its setup in 2022, the Foundation has remained steadfast in its goal to create a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. This celebration is yet another reminder of the transformative power of collective goodwill.
“Over the past few years, DAF has spearheaded life-changing ideas, donating substantial funds to hundreds of charities and orphanages all over the country. These contributions have directly improved the lives of thousands, reiterating our core values of compassion, equity, and sustainable community support.”
The press release noted that this year’s N300m donation will go towards assisting orphanages, as well as providing resources for programs aimed at controlling drug abuse and addiction among Nigerian youth.
Similarly, it added, “This year is no exception. As we celebrate another milestone, the Foundation will be giving the sum of N300m to charitable causes across Nigeria.
“This involves contributing to orphanages and a charity that assists young people in staying away from drug abuse and addiction. From aiding grassroots projects to supporting vulnerable communities, the ripple effect of these efforts is a testament to the profound impact of partnership and kindness.
