Democracy Day: FG Declares Wednesday a Public Holiday

The Federal Government has announced that Wednesday, June 12, will be a public holiday to commemorate this year's Democracy Day.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Nigerians on the occasion in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako.

As part of the celebrations, Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to reflect on the efforts of their founding fathers and work towards maintaining a united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible nation. He also emphasized the importance of remaining steadfast in the principles of democratic governance.

The minister further highlighted President Bola Tinubu's commitment to positive reforms aimed at reviving the nation's economy and enhancing security.

Tunji-Ojo encouraged Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to appreciate the progress made so far and look forward to a brighter future for the country's democracy.
