Don’t Accept Luggage Without Knowing Its Content - NDLEA

Emmanuella Amarachi Ozioko

The Director of Media and Advocacy at the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Femi Babafemi, has issued a warning to all travellers to avoid carrying luggage from anyone without knowing its content.

In a recent post on his official Twitter handle, he shared a story of two students and a PhD student who got into trouble after they were caught with bottles of codeine syrup in the luggage they were carrying for a female friend studying overseas.

The trio could have been jailed, but @ndlea_nigeria worked hard to ensure that the owner of the luggage was put on the next flight home.

Babafemi emphasized the importance of not carrying luggage for anyone as you never know what it may contain. He also shared a video showing how bags of opioids were concealed among spare parts coming from Onitsha heading to Mubi in Adamawa.
