Focus on Sustainable Development – IBN Tells S-E Leaders

A pro-Biafra group known as the Igbo-Biafra Nationalists (IBN) on Friday urged South-East politicians to focus on the sustainable development of the region.

Edoziuno Chukwunonso, spokesperson for IBN, noted this in a statement to journalists in Owerri, the Imo State Capital.

“The Igbo-Biafra Nationalists and the Indigenous People of the Igbo Nation for Self-Determination issued an urgent call to our political representatives to pledge their unwavering dedication to sustainable development. Our collective vision, rooted in the principles of responsible governance and accountability, compels us to advocate for the prosperity and well-being of our people in the South-East region", Chukwunoso noted.

IBN see themselves as defenders of core principles like human rights, sustainable development, and good governance. They believe these are not just ideas, but the building blocks of a successful and fair society. The IBN feels a strong duty to make sure everyone in their region benefits from democracy.

They believe leaders should be held accountable for their actions and avoid stealing public money, which slows down progress. They propose strict rules to oversee politicians' work and make sure they're doing their jobs.

IBN affirmed that building a strong and prosperous South-East goes beyond policies, and is a moral duty. "We need progress that benefits everyone now without harming future generations' chances. This means focusing on a healthy economy, protecting the environment, and ensuring everyone has opportunities. Our leaders should make these things a top priority", said the spokesman.
