Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu announced that she is not scared of death from any quarters, having reached the age of 64.

The First Lady was reacting to a viral video in which an unknown Islamic parson in Bauchi State noted that the First Lady deserved to die for her Christian faith.

The preacher also described the Muslim/Muslim ticket that brought President Bola Tinubu to power as a sham.

Commenting, Remi Tinubu, who spoke during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwan Adamu, before launching some projects in the state, clarified that she was not discouraged by any death threat.

She said, “I want to appreciate the Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Bala Mohammed. He continues reassuring me that I am safe in Bauchi. But I want to say that I am too old to be afraid. If God has allowed me over 60 years on earth, I shouldn’t be afraid to die.

"I thank God that you motivated me to come. Nigeria belongs to all of us and this is the time for us to unite more than before."

Governor Mohammed criticized the death threats against the First Lady, relating it as a “national discomfort.”

The governor expressed surprise over the preacher’s outburst, saying the threat was shocking.

He assured the First Lady of her protection in the state and promised to take suitable action against the cleric that issued the death threat.
