Fashola stated, "That is all I get with no federal benefit. I don’t know how long this will last. And in spite of all the stories that we get several billions, I have come out to deny that repeatedly."
When asked about the longevity of this benefit, Fashola replied, "Well, I don’t know how long it will last. I still get it every month."
Meanwhile, he encouraged Nigerians to maintain a positive outlook on the country's prospects and emphasized the importance of distinguishing between the government and the nation.
He said, “When the government disappoints us, it is not our country that has let us down, but the elites and elected leaders. We shouldn’t throw our country under the bus because we are angry with our politicians.”
Recall that Fashola served as the Minister of Works and Housing from 2019 to 2023.
