In a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos, Mr. Mallum Musa, the Media and Advocacy Officer of NDLEA, Lagos Command, emphasized the agency's determination to extend the campaign to the remote communities of the state.

The goal is to safeguard the residents from falling prey to the dangers of illicit drug consumption.

Musa disclosed that a series of programs would be implemented, targeting women and youth specifically. The aim is to provide education and awareness on the perils associated with drug abuse.

He stated, "We will ensure that our campaign reaches even the farthest corners of the state, aiming to enlighten and protect the vulnerable members of society from the allure of harmful substances."

“The programme will expose Nigerians to types of illicit drugs, their abuse, consequences, prevention, treatment, and care.

He said,” As part of the efforts to ensure the campaign hits its objectives, the agency has upgraded its forensic laboratory to enhance investigations and treatments.

“The forensic laboratory will support the agency’s drug investigations, which will enhance the campaign,” he said.

He urged all community leaders, religious organisations, institutions, and governments to join the agency’s move to rid the state of illicit drugs.
