The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of resorting to extreme tactics to secure a second term.

These allegations were made in a statement by the Osun APC Chairman, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal. According to Lawal, the party has reliable information that Adeleke is compelling these riders to swear an oath of loyalty to the PDP by invoking Ogun, the Yoruba god of iron.

Lawal stated, "It has come to our attention that Adeleke is now forcing commercial motorcycle and tricycle riders to swear an oath of continuous support for the PDP using Ogun, the god of iron. This directive is reportedly being enforced from the state capital down to all transportation union units throughout the state."

He further alleged that Governor Adeleke and his associates have been actively trying to win back former PDP members who felt marginalized after Adeleke's Supreme Court victory.

In response, Osun PDP Chairman, Mr. Sunday Bisi, dismissed the APC’s claims as baseless accusations aimed at discrediting the governor and the ruling party. Bisi asserted that Governor Adeleke’s notable achievements in welfare and infrastructure have naturally earned him widespread support, including from those in the transportation sector.

Bisi countered, "Sooko Tajudeen Lawal’s allegations are unfounded. We have gathered that the Osun APC's attempts to gain support from transporters were unsuccessful, leading them to fabricate these lies. It’s clear to the people of Osun that the APC’s tenure brought suffering and disappointment. Governor Adeleke does not need to coerce support when his performance speaks for itself."

Bisi concluded by criticizing the APC, labeling their claims as desperate attempts to cover up their past failures and explaining that the support for Governor Adeleke comes from genuine appreciation of his governance, not coercion.
