Police Apprehend Suspected Kidnapping Gang in Nasarawa

Police operatives attached to Mararaba ‘A’ Division have successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in a kidnapping scheme in Nasarawa State.

The suspects have been identified as Babangida Abdullahi (29 years old), Mohammed Abubakar (27 years old), and Yakubu Sani (30 years old), all residents of Aso B Mararaba, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State.

According to police reports, the trio allegedly conspired and contacted Ibrahim Idris, an uncle to one of the suspects, threatening to abduct him unless a ransom of Two Million Naira was paid. Fearing for his safety, the victim complied with the demand and delivered the specified amount to the designated location.

Subsequently, the suspects retrieved the ransom and divided it among themselves. Upon investigation, all three suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime. However, efforts are underway to apprehend an additional member of the syndicate who managed to evade arrest.

The arrest of these individuals marks a significant milestone in the fight against kidnapping and criminal activities in Nasarawa State. Authorities are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents, and measures are being implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.

The suspects are currently in police custody, awaiting further legal proceedings, while investigations continue to uncover any additional accomplices involved in the criminal operation.
