Two cable thieves were intercepted and beaten on Sunday morning before being tied to electric poles in the Amuloko area of Ona-Ara Local Government Area, Oyo State.

They were caught while transporting vandalized electric cables on their motorcycle.

In a viral video obtained by journalists on Sunday, the thieves were stripped naked, tied to the poles, and the stolen cable was placed beside them.

Residents of the area were seen mocking the thieves.

One of the thieves, identified as Lekan, admitted they came from the Oremeji area of Ibadan to commit the crime.

Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, for comments were unsuccessful as his phone number was not reachable.
