This was as a result of the voluntary resignation of the former BOI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olukayode Pitan.

Dr. Olasupo Olusi brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served as a World Bank economist and development finance expert for over two decades. Notably, he served as the economic adviser to the then Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance from 2011 to 2015.

Dr. Olusi's educational background is equally impressive, with an alumni status at Hull University, United Kingdom. Furthermore, he holds a Masters degree in International Money, Finance, and Investment, along with a Doctorate in Finance & Economics from Durham University, United Kingdom, which he obtained in 2005.

In appointing Dr. Olusi to this significant position, President Tinubu has charged him with a crucial mission. The new BOI Chief Executive is tasked with ensuring that Nigerians engaged in businesses of all sizes and across various sectors have equitable access to much-needed support.
