We Will Explore Gaming, Tourism for Development — Sanwo-Olu

Yesterday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State promised to delve deeper into tourism, entertainment, and gaming to drive economic and social development in the state.

Sanwo-Olu made the remark during the inaugural 2024 Africa Gaming Expo, AGE, in Victoria Island, with the theme: ‘Exploring the Future of the Africa Gaming Market: Emerging Trends, Prospects and Opportunities’.

The governor highlighted that the gaming expo is in line with the state government's agenda and will provide a unique opportunity to assess current industry practices against global standards, shaping the future of the $7.8 billion gaming market in Africa.

He observed that Lagos is renowned for its commercial and political grandeur, is considered the commercial and entertainment capital of Africa, and has stayed dedicated to enhancing the nation’s tourism sector.

“This is through entertainment and cultural export across various entities like movie, music, fashion and recently gaming.” He concluded.
