As Valentine's Day approaches, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) has said it is dedicated to supporting a healthy and moral celebration of love, particularly in light of current global health issues.

Dr. Gambo Aliyu, the Director General of NACA, issued this statement yesterday, emphasizing the importance of putting safety and well-being first while expressing affection.

To encourage people to take a more holistic approach to love, NACA emphasized the need for open communication, mutual respect, and responsible decisions.

Dr. Aliyu urged the public to incorporate protection into intimate moments, highlighting the significance of frequent HIV testing and sexual health talks with partners.

“Love is a powerful force, and by embracing responsible practices, we can ensure that it enriches our lives without compromising our health. NACA is dedicated to providing resources, information, and support to empower individuals in making informed choices,” he said.

According to him, those measures not only enhance personal health but also contribute to the broader goal of building safer and healthier communities.

“In line with our mission, NACA will conduct comprehensive awareness campaigns this Valentine’s Day to educate the public about the importance of both abstinence and safe sex practices.

 “The agency aims to create an environment where love is celebrated responsibly, fostering a community that values support and health consciousness,” he added.
