Ex-Rep Member Scolds APC Chair Over Rivers Emergency Rule

Idongesit Udoewah

Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke, a former member of the House of Representatives, has stated that caretaker committee chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Tony Okocha, cannot force President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in the state.

Nwuke, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this declaration in Port Harcourt the state's capital.

He told Okocha that Rivers State plays a very important and vital role in the life of the country and that he should concentrate more on his role as the state's representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

According to the former federal politician, what we are witnessing appears to be signs of despair and possibly irritation among people who believe that throwing their state into instability is a wise course of action. claiming that since he is becoming more of an extremist and giving more attention to political issues these days, the state is not experiencing his influence as a state representative.
