Benjamin Omakolo, the interim chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, has stated that Governor Hyacinth Alia inherited a dead state and is trying hard to bring it back to life.

Speaking in Okpoga during the governor's thank-you visit to the residents of Enone, which includes the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Omakolo stated that all nooks and crannies of the state will experience the benefits of democracy because of the work the governor has done thus far.

In his speech, Governor Alia pledged to rebuild the Igumale Cement factory and build access roads in the region, thanking the Enone people for their trust in him to manage the state.

He called out the previous administration for not only withholding workers' salaries but also misleading the public into believing that the federal government was not providing them with enough money to pay salaries.

He declared that the payment of salaries to employees would remain a top priority for his administration and that state employees would start receiving their paychecks on the 22nd of each month.

Earlier, Daniel Onjeh, a prominent member of the APC and a former senatorial candidate, advised the governor to keep his word when it comes to keeping campaign pledges to the citizen and to avoid becoming sidetracked by the opposition's threats.
