Just In: APC Wins Benue Bye-election

Terwase Uche of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won the by-elections for Guma 1 state constituency.

The Returning Officer, Julius Ikya, from Joseph Sawuan Tarka University Makurdi, (JOSTUM), declared that the APC candidate polled 5,289 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jimmy Geoffrey of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 4,134 votes.           

He also declared that while Labour Party (LP), candidate polled 2,833, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), polled 121 followed by African Democratic Congress (ADC), which polled 72 votes.

Announcing the results, Ikya said the APC candidate, Uche, having polled the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner of the by-elections for Guma 1 state constituency elections held on February 3, 2024.
