The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and the people of Rivers State have received praise from federal lawmakers operating under the G-60 banner for the successful swearing-in of caretaker committee chairs for the 23 local government areas.

In a statement, the G-60 commended the state legislature and the governor for filling the gaps left by the former elected council chairmen's terms expiring.

The lawmakers urged the recently appointed caretaker chairmen to uphold Governor Fubara's vision for the state and steer clear of the mistakes committed by their predecessors, who allegedly disregarded their duties and put their personal interests ahead of the wellbeing of the populace.

In addition, the statement praised Governor Fubara for being democratic enough to permit the outgoing Chairmen to serve out their three terms uninterrupted despite the aggressive actions directed at him.

"He has shown maturity and leadership that no governor in the nation has shown before, particularly his predecessor who violated court orders, fired his predecessor, and named a caretaker committee chairperson just two months into office" the statement read.
