More than 1,000 APC Members Switch Allegiance to NNPP in Kano

Gbadamosi Azeezah

In a significant move within Kano politics, over 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have switched allegiance to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

This transition occurred primarily in Tofa and Ghari Local Government Areas, where these individuals formally joined the NNPP.

During ceremonies held in both areas, they were warmly received by Dr. Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, the state chairman of the NNPP.

These events also served as an inaugural launchpad for the NNPP's chairmanship campaign leading up to the impending local government elections.

Notably present at these gatherings were NNPP candidates for the elections—Yakubu Ibrahim Adis representing Tofa and Hashimu Mai Sabulu representing Ghari. Both candidates expressed optimism regarding the NNPP’s increasing influence in the region, especially considering the influx of newly affiliated members.
