Abbey Excel Alaba, a key member of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa campaign organisation, had been murdered by gunmen.

He served as a coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC) in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Excel was murdered at his house on Saturday, according to LACO-FSIC's State Information Director Kayode Fasua in a statement issued on Sunday.

He characterised the late campaign coordinator as "resourceful," and said that his death surprised members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the council.

The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC) further condemned the heinous murder of Mr Abbey and urged police to protect its members from unrelenting opponents.
