Ondo: Why I Chose Adelami as Deputy Governor — Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, affirmed that the decision to appoint Dr. Olayide Adelami as Deputy Governor and Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi as Secretary to the State Government was a judicious move by his administration.

In a meeting at the Government House in Akure on Friday, the governor expressed his confidence in Adelami and Oluwatuyi, stating that he believed they possessed the requisite qualifications and capabilities to effectively fulfill their designated responsibilities.

Aiyedatiwa revealed that he had received calls and messages from prominent figures, including traditional rulers and religious leaders, praising the appointment of the duo.

He said, “The time for a deputy governor has come, because the responsibilities have been immense, and I am grateful for the capable hands of Dr. Adelami and the prompt action of the SSG,  Oluwatuyi, who has already begun his duties.

He added that the overwhelming reactions that greeted the nomination and appointment of the duo showed that he made the right choices for both positions.

The governor announced Adelami who was a former deputy clerk of the National Assembly as his deputy and Oluwatuyi as the SSG following the dissolution of the state Executive Council on Wednesday.

He had earlier dissolved the state Executive Council, sacking all the political appointees, appointed by the former governor, Late Rotimi Akeredolu.
