The acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Illiya Damagum, and the governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintri, have declared that the PDP is prepared to win back both Ondo State and Edo State in the next governorship elections.

This was said by Fintri and Damagum on Friday during the PDP National Campaign Councils (NCCs) for the two states' gubernatorial elections.

Elections in Ondo and Edo are scheduled for November 16, 2024, and September 21, 2024, respectively. Senator Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is the chairman of the Ondo campaign council, while Fintri is the chairman of the Edo campaign council.

Speaking at the inauguration, Fintri said, “We are ready for Edo. We will not leave anything to chance. We will leverage Obasaki’s performance. We have low-hanging political fruits in the two states.

“We should go with all seriousness. We will match APC. With technology, rigging is very minimal. PDP has bright chances in the two states. Edo has registered over 2000 since new registration has started,” he said.

Damagum, on his part, asked the committee members to lend their full assistance to ensure the party wins in both states, noting that they were chosen for the assignment because of their prior success.

He urged the Ondo campaign team to remain fearless in their pursuit for better governance.
