President Bola Tinubu has warned anyone who is not authorized to attend the weekly federal executive council (FEC) meeting.

The president stated that some people who were not authorized, including his son Seyi Tinubu, had access to the State House council chamber.

Prior to the start of the FEC meeting on Monday at the presidential villa, the president stated that he noticed some people sneaking in and out of the council chamber.

“Last week I noticed the undue access of people sneaking in and out of this council, including… I saw the photograph of my son, Seyi, sitting behind, That is not acceptable,” Tinubu said.“I will announce to you those people who are supposed to be here.

“Hadiza Usman, special adviser on policy coordination, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, principal private secretary and Damilotun Aderemi, private secretary.

“These are the people who are granted the exception to be here when we are conducting the business of the nation. Unless I send for you, don’t come.”

The president directed George Akume, the federation's secretary to the government (SGF), and Folashade Yemi-Esan, the federation's head of service, to ensure that the directive is followed.

Cabinet members and the president's top aides attend the weekly FEC meeting, which is presided over by the president.

The high-level meeting, which was previously held on Wednesdays, is now held on Mondays.
