The Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their victory against five-time winners, Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, in the Round of 16 of the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.

Mbah, who took to his “X”, Facebook , and Instagram handles to celebrate the Super Eagles, described the team’s performance against their Cameroonian counterparts, Saturday night, as superlative.

Governor Mbah pledges support and prayer for the Super Eagles as they forge ahead into the quarter-finals of the competition.

Taking to his “X” (Twitter) handle, @PNMbah, the sport-loving governor wrote: “Congratulations to the Super Eagles on your win against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. That was a superlative display and we are proud of you.

“We celebrate and pray for you as you soar into the quarter-finals of the AFCON 2023 completion.”

It is recalled that the Super Eagles had on Saturday night put up what many judged their best performance in recent times as they sent the highly decorated Cameroon national team home with two unreplied goals by Ademola Lookman in each of the two halves of the pulsating game.
