Senator John Owan Enoh, the minister of sports development, has expressed optimism following the Court of Arbitration for Sports' (CAS) rejection of the World Athletics and WADA's appeals and upholding the ruling of the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal that Tobi Amusan did not violate any anti-doping rules.

Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, the current world record holder in the 100-meter hurdles, has now qualified to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Enoh, who has led the charge to address the ongoing doping problems that have plagued Nigeria's relationship with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), stated that this CAS award and the news that Tobi is cleared to compete at the Olympics is a great source of joy for the sports-loving people of Nigeria.

He stated that it is encouraging that this submission coincides with the government of the nation marking a historic accomplishment by domesticating the anti-doping law with parliamentary support and subsequently founding the National Anti-Doping Organisation.

In a CAS statement, the panel unanimously acknowledged that the athlete had made two filing errors, but it did not verify the existence of a test that was missed, as claimed by World Athletics and the World Anti-Doping Organisation. This would have been the athlete's third Whereabouts Failure in a 12-month period.
