Fenerbahce To Pay Mourinho Over $11.4m Annually

Idongesit Udoewah

After reaching an agreement on a two-year deal, Fenerbahce has disclosed that new head coach Jose Mourinho would get €10.5 million ($11.4 million) annually.

Three days after Mourinho was introduced to thousands of supporters at their stadium, the club made the numbers public in a statement intended to update the stock market. The amount of any incentives was not specified in Mourinho's contract.

Fenerbahce hasn't won the Turkish League since 2014, therefore, Mourinho has been entrusted with doing so. Galatasaray, the team's bitter rivals, defeated the squad to win the title last month.

In July, Fenerbahce will also participate in the early qualifying round of the Champions League.

In a career full of awards and off-field drama, he has since coached Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
