PSG Crowned League1 Champions For 12th Time In Their History

Paris Saint-Germain has won the Ligue 1 title following AS Monaco's away loss to Lyon on Sunday, giving the club 12 league wins in their history.

PSG were held to a shocking 3-3 draw by Le Havre on Saturday, forcing them to rely on second-placed Monaco not winning if they were to be crowned champions this weekend.
Despite PSG's draw on Saturday, Monaco's loss dropped them to 59 points, 11 behind PSG's total of 70, putting the championship out of reach with only three games left in the season.

The French giants are on course to win all four of the trophies available to them this season, which is likely to be Mbappe's final season at the club.

Since being taken over by state-backed Qatari Sports Investment in 2011, the Parisian club has won ten of the previous thirteen titles.

It means defending champions PSG have increased their lead in Ligue 1 championships over Saint-Etienne, who won their 10th title in 1981 but were relegated to the second level two seasons ago.

Despite speculation that he would join Real Madrid this summer, Mbappe, who has 26 league goals, has been critical to PSG's success in a season of transition after the departure of Neymar and Lionel Messi. He is on course to earn the league's top goalscorer award for the sixth consecutive season. The France captain shares five such honours with Carlos Bianchi, Delio Onnis, and Jean-Pierre Papin.
