Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala was awarded the best goal in the UEFA Women's Champions League 2023/24 season.

Oshoala scored a magnificent bicycle kick in Barcelona's 5-0 win against Benfica in their first group game, helping the Catalans win the Champions League for the second consecutive season.

With the Blaugrana already 4-0 up, Jonatan Giráldez sent in the reigning Women’s African Footballer of The Year and she did not hesitate in making her mark in the game, scoring the last goal of the encounter in style – her only goal of the competition.

She later made a mid-season move to American side, Bay FC.

On Monday, UEFA announced that Oshoala's goal was the best of the goals that were picked.

Oshoala made history with Barcelona Femení, being the first African to win three UEFA Women's Champions League titles.

Despite a midseason switch to Bay FC in the United States, the 29-year-old got a winner's medal. The Super Falcons striker contributed to Barcelona’s Champions League campaign by playing in two group-stage matches and scoring once before her move.
