Users Panic as Instagram, Facebook Crash Globally

Scores of Meta's Instagram and Facebook users all over the world, on Tuesday, reported several challenges, as the social media platforms experienced total service interruption. These include; being logged out of both Instagram and Facebook. Some persons were unable to refresh Instagram pages. Many users were also asked to change passwords.

It was gathered that YouTube users also started facing a similar issue.

This caused panic across the globe as users expressed fear and frustration. The remote cause of the outage is still unknown at the time of filing this report.

Meta ECO, Mark Elliot Zuckerberg has not yet provided a timeline for when the problem will be resolved.

Reacting to the incident, Mr. Andy Stone, Meta’s Communication Officer who responded through X, formally Twitter, said they were working to fix the issue.

He said, “We know people are having challenges accessing our services. We are trying to restore it now,” Says Andy Stone X.

Similarly, outage tracking website Downdetector.com stated it had recorded over 3,000, 000 Facebook outages and over 20, 000 outage reports for Instagram globally.

Also, an unverified report alleged that the recent Facebook and Instagram outages were caused by technical problems affecting the platforms.
