Wizkid Breaks Spotify Record with "Piece of My Heart

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun known professionally as Wizkid, has set a new record on Spotify for the biggest first-day streams by any song for his hit single “Piece of My Heart,” pulling 1.01 million streams.

The Grammy-winning singer had on weekend released the much expected “Piece of My Heart,” featuring American singer and record producer Christopher Brent Wood, professionally known as Brent Faiyaz.

Turntable Charts said on X(formerly Twitter), that the song reached the 1.01 million milestone on the audio streaming platform on its first day of release.

The Chart wrote: @wizkidayo’s “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz tallied 1,016,835 streams in its first day of release on Spotify Nigeria, as a result, it becomes the first song in history to record over 1 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in a day.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the soul-stirring track released on Friday is the lead single from Wizkid’s upcoming album ‘Morayo’, which is set to drop on November 22.

“Piece of My Heart”, a brilliant partnership, showcases the perfect blend of Wizkid’s Afrobeats sound with Brent Faiyaz’s R&B flair.

The song, produced by P2J and Dpat, showcases heartfelt lyrics that express unwavering love, passion, and commitment.

Faiyaz sings an emotional chorus “Nothing can tear us apart, you’ve got a piece of my heart,” while Wizkid's powerful vocals enhance the emotional message.

The song is gaining popularity among music fans, especially Wizkid's followers, as it sets the tone for what is to come from the album “Morayo.”
