Lawrence Anini, also known as "The Law," was a notorious armed robber in Nigeria during the late 1980s. He and his gang, which included his partner-in-crime Monday Osunbor, were responsible for a string of high-profile robberies and kidnappings that terrorized the country.

Anini's criminal career began in the early 1980s, when he was involved in petty crime in the city of Benin. However, it wasn't until he formed a partnership with Osunbor that he truly made a name for himself. Together, the two men began committing daring and violent robberies, targeting banks, businesses, and wealthy individuals.

Anini's bold and ruthless tactics quickly made him one of the most feared criminals in Nigeria. He was known for using AK-47 assault rifles and other heavy weapons during his robberies, and for his willingness to kill anyone who got in his way. He also had a penchant for luxury cars, and was often seen driving around in flashy vehicles that he had stolen.

The Nigerian government launched a massive manhunt for Anini and his gang, but they were able to evade capture for several years. However, in 1986, Anini was finally arrested in a police sting operation. He was found guilty of multiple counts of armed robbery and murder, and was sentenced to death. Osunbor was also arrested and received similar sentence.

Anini's capture and conviction sent shockwaves throughout Nigeria, and he became a symbol of the country's struggles with crime and corruption. His story was later adapted into a popular Nigerian film, "The Anini Story." Although he is no longer alive, his legacy continues to be remembered as one of the most notorious criminal in Nigeria's history
