Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Tuesday, joined labour protesters in his state following the rising alarm about the worsening economic hardship in the country.
Mankinde affirmed that hardship and poverty have reached worsening levels, with multitudes unable to feed themselves or secure jobs.
The governor advised all parties involved to collaborate to find solutions, expressing hope that things will get better.
“There is starvation and poverty in the country,” said the governor. “We must tackle these challenges”
Makinde stressed that the rising economic downturn is not peculiar to Oyo State, but rather a nationwide problem.
He urged the federal government to take action to reduce the suffering of the people, stressing the need for strategies that promote growth and creation of jobs.
