The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has refuted claims that a helicopter crashed early Monday in Tamil village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. According to NAF spokesperson Edward Gabkwet, the incident involved an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) rather than a helicopter.

Gabkwet explained, "A NAF UAV experienced a mishap after take-off for a mission near Rumji Village, about 15 kilometers from the base. There were no casualties as it was an unmanned vehicle."

A preliminary investigation is underway to determine the cause of the mishap. Despite the incident, Gabkwet assured the public that ongoing operations would not be affected.

Following the incident, personnel from the Nigerian Air Force Air Training Centre and 401 Flying School secured the area for emergency rescue operations and to investigate the cause of the crash. Earlier reports from locals had mistakenly identified the aircraft as a helicopter, causing alarm among residents.
