Residents of Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, have staged a peaceful protest against the alleged abuse of power by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olaonipekun.
The demonstration, held at Gbaemu Junction in Osogbo, reportedly included stakeholders and members of the Osogbo royal families.
Protesters accused the traditional ruler of compromising Osogbo's culture and heritage for personal gain. They also alleged that he appointed individuals as traditional rulers in some communities without the consent of the people.
In a video shared by TVC on Wednesday, November 20, the protesters were seen chanting indigenous songs and holding placards with various inscriptions.
