The Plateau State government has officially approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for its workers, a move aimed at enhancing the welfare of the state’s workforce.

This decision was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by Stephen Gadong, the State Head of Civil Service, following a meeting on November 13, 2024.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang's approval comes after recommendations from the Committee on Consequential Adjustment on Salaries.

The governor emphasized that this increase reflects his administration's commitment to the wellbeing of civil servants, recognizing their essential role in advancing Plateau's development objectives.

Gadong urged civil servants to respond positively to this gesture by demonstrating increased dedication and productivity in their roles, fostering a culture of excellence across the state.
