The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Lucky Aiyedatiwa, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the Ondo State governorship election held on Saturday. Aiyedatiwa emerged victorious with a commanding lead, securing 366,781 votes, far ahead of his closest opponent, Mr. Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes.
The APC triumphed across all 18 local government areas of the state, showcasing a broad base of support. Other contenders, including the Labour Party (LP) and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), received 1,162 and 2,692 votes, respectively.
The official results were declared by the collation officer, Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi, at the INEC State Headquarters in Akure. The victory cements the APC's dominance in Ondo State politics.
