The Osun State Government has assured the people of Osogbo that the land dispute surrounding Osogbo Technical College will be settled in favour of the state capital. Addressing the community’s concerns, the government clarified that this longstanding legal dispute was inherited from the previous administration.
According to a statement by Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, Governor Ademola Adeleke inherited a consent judgment on the land when he took office in 2022. This judgment had transferred ownership to private landowners, raising questions about the land’s future while the school remains operational and in need of space.
In response, the current administration has re-acquired the land, though the matter remains under court review. “The government reaffirms that only the best interest of the Osogbo people will guide our actions,” Alimi said, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to prioritizing Osogbo’s community needs.
Commissioner Alimi further assured residents that Governor Adeleke's administration remains focused on protecting Osogbo's interests and securing the land for public use to serve the community at large.
