Victor Osimhen's possible move to French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is on the verge of failure after negotiations between the club and Napoli reached a deadlock over the player's €130 million release clause.

PSG had been desperate to sign the 25-year-old Nigerian star striker following Kylian Mbappe's free transfer to Real Madrid, and discussions were aided by Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, who flew to Paris.

Osimhen's contract includes a €130 million release clause, which PSG is unwilling to pay and wishes to negotiate down.

According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Osimhen is anxious to leave Napoli this summer, but PSG's unwillingness to pay the clause means talks are on hold at the moment, with no opportunity to include Kang-in Lare.

Osimhen may possibly consider Saudi league bids, while Napoli wants Lukaku to replace him at Diego Maradona Stadium.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Ligue 1 winners are unwilling to spend more than €100 million on Napoli's star player and are considering a player-plus-cash deal that may include Carlos Soler, Nordi Mukiele, and Lee Kang-in, which the Italian club has also rejected.

In addition to PSG, Saudi Pro League clubs have expressed interest in Osimhen, while giants such as Manchester United and Bayern Munich have already bid for his services.
